Description

DPI Zinc Phosphate Cement is a versatile dental product used for luting permanent metal restorations and as a base in dental procedures. With its low initial pH, it provides strong adhesive properties but requires careful application to prevent pulpal irritation, especially in cases where thin layers of dentine separate the cement from the pulp.

DIRECTION FOR USE
  • Ratio: The powder/liquid ratio at an ambient temperature 23±1⁰C is 1.20 – 1.60g powder to 0.5ml liquid.

    Mixing:

    1. The recommended ambient temperature for mixing is 23±1⁰C.

    2. Place an appropriate amount of powder and liquid on clean and dry, polished glass slab using an agate, stainless steel or stellite spatula.

    3. Incorporate successive small increments of powder into the liquid. Spatulate thoroughly after each addition until the desired consistency is obtained.

    4. Higher temperature accelerates and lower temperatures retard the setting of the material, therefore, recommended that the glass slab be cooled in hot weather, care being taken to avoid condensation.

    Mixing time:

1 – 1½ minutes, rapid incorporation of powder accelerates the setting time, slow mixing retards.

    Average working time:

1 minute from end of mix, do not add liquid once mixing has commenced.
