Preparation:• Complete root canal instrumentation to the necessary apical enlargement.
• Clean and dry the canal.
• Irrigate the canal with sterile water to remove any debris.
• Verify the working length using an apex locator.
Application:
• Remove the Luer Lock cap from the UltraCal XS paste syringe.
• Attach the recommended 29 ga NaviTip™ Single Sideport tip to the syringe.
• Verify the flow consistency before intraoral expression.
• Slowly dispense UltraCal XS paste into the canal, evaluating the rate of expression.
For Temporary Dressing, Apexification, Perforation Management, and Vital Pulp Therapy:
• Ensure the rubber stopper on the NaviTip is 3–4 mm shy of the apex.
• Gently and carefully deliver UltraCal XS paste into the canal without forcing it beyond the apex.
• Take an X-ray to verify proper placement.
• Remove excess paste from the pulp chamber and seal the coronal opening.
Monitoring and Follow-Up:
• Leave UltraCal XS paste in the canal for 1–3 weeks.
• Monitor closely and repeat application as necessary.
• For apexification, change paste every 4 weeks and avoid treatment beyond 6 months.
Removal:
• After the desired period, remove UltraCal XS paste using Citric Acid 20% with NaviTip™ FX™ Tip.
• Rinse the area with sterile water and dry the canal.
• Proceed with the final canal obturation using the preferred sealing system.
For Non-Vital Primary Dentition:
• Follow similar steps but ensure the rubber stopper is shy of the apex and use extra care due to varying canal lengths.
• Apply a thin layer of Ultra-Blend™ plus calcium hydroxide liner after paste application.
Post-Application:
• Process the syringe with an intermediate-level disinfectant between uses.
• Store and dispose of waste according to local regulations.
